Nervous!

Okay so I have been working for KinderCare Learning Centers for two years now and I have been working towards becoming management.  Well I am currently interviewing for an Assistant Directors position and I couldn't be more thrilled.  This would help us out so much because then I would get a discount in the infant room for when the new baby comes on the scene plus then i would be progressing and achieving a long term goal of mine.  The second interview is tomorrow and I feel prepared but I still get nervous.  But there is another little thing that is making me even more nervous.  There is two of us interviewing and the other girl is one of my good friends at the center I am currently at.  We both would benefit from this greatly and I can see how we both would do a good job so it is pulling me in two directions.  I really REALLY want the job but I don't want to feel bad if she gets the job.  So all of this is compounding into great nerves!  So I'm am really trying to put everything into the Lord's hands and to just do my best.  So here I go and I will let you all know what happens.

Easter

Well first off we started with dying Easter Eggs!  This was Kayla's first time and she did wonderfully!  She loved every egg and wouldn't let me do any of them!  The only thing we had a problem with was that she didn't put the eggs in the dye very gently and all the eggs ended up being cracked.  But she had a great time so it was well worth it!
The next morning the Easter bunny hid Kayla an extra special gift!  Yep a tricycle!  She loved it!  We are still working on peddling and she prefers to just scoot around pushing off the ground with her feet but she loves it.  She will get it someday but she loves her new bike.

Speaking of new stuff we are getting ready for a big trip to Florida with my family.  Well I took Kayla to a store called Kid to Kid.  It's all gentle used clothing.  Well I found this swimsuit for her for $3!  I love it and she does too if you can't tell by the pose!  2 weeks and counting until Florida and a much needed vacation!

The chair incident...

So I have gotten a beautiful new glider rocker and love it.  Well so does Kayla and has labeled it as Mommy and Kayla's chair.  The other day I went to the bathroom and came back to this.
Yes that is pen all over my new chair.  Well luck for me and Kayla with some carpet cleaner it came off really easily and looks just like new.  Well lets just say we had a big talk about coloring only on paper after this.

There's a baby in there!!!

This is Kayla's new shirt to announce that she is going to be a big sister.  The front says "I have a secret..."  the back says "I'm going to be a big sister."  She had to come with me to my first appointment and it really hit home that there is a baby growing in my tummy.  She always asks me about the baby in my tummy and tells me that she is going to hold the baby.  Then she will sing rock a bye baby to show me how she will hold the baby.  It's very cute!

Next is my new favorite thing!  I got a Glider chair!!  I never had a rocking chair with Kayla and I really wanted on and this was on sale and it's the one I wanted so I got it!!  It's nice because we have most of the big expensive stuff already so we can get the few things that I really wanted to have and weren't able to.    It's very comfy and Kayla thinks the ottoman is her chair.

Next is ultrasound pictures! Sorry they aren't very good but I took a picture of the ultrasound pictures.  But if you can see the little peanut in the middle is the baby.  The heart beat is good and everything is looking good.

I have a secret....

So I have a secret and I can't keep it any longer.  That's right folks I'm pregnant with kid number 2.  It's crazy to think we are going to have another kid!  I'm due around November 9th.  Kayla loves babies so I'm hoping that this whole being a big sister thing will be a hit.  Kayla is so funny about it right now.  We say hey Kayla your going to be a big sister and she says "No I'm Kayla".  So I think when my belly starts growing we will really start trying to get her understand that there really is a baby on the way.  We have already switched her old bed which will be the baby's crib with the toddler bed that my Dad made me when I was her age.  She loves it!  So I will keep you all updated with all things Kayla and baby.

Disney on Ice

Yes I was one of the crazy parents who took their child to see Disney on Ice.  But Kayla loved it!!!  At first she wasn't sure what was going on.  Her look said is that really Micky Mouse out there or what is going on.  Then she got super excited and clapped for every little thing she could.  She loved Ariel and the Cars from Cars.  But the very end was Tinkerbell and that happens to be her favorite thing right now.  She was very excited.  Well we went with my brother and his friend and their friend just happened to be working for the show.  So lucky us we got to go meet some of the characters!!  Kayla decided at this point to pretend to be shy.  She was just so excited she didn't know what to do.  So it was a crazy fun time and I was excited for Kayla.

Independence

So Kayla has really gotten into doing lots of things by herself.  She doesn't want help when she goes potty and usually I end up waiting outside the door hoping she doesn't get distracted by something shiny.  She also has to be part of picking out her own clothing which for now is okay because she is happy with picking form the choices provided her.  But today she decided she wanted to do her hair by herself.  She got a head band and proceeded to put it on her head.  This is the end result and she was so proud of herself.  And yes we did go out in public like this.

The other night me and Graydon where getting ready to go to the temple and Kayla asked if she could come with us.  I told her not yet when she was twelve.  She then asked if she could wear a tie like daddy.  He then let her pick out a tie and look how cute she is in her tie like daddy.

Last I have to tell you about Kayla's prayers.  Like I said before she if very much a "I DO IT MY SELF" girl.  That goes with prayers too.  So the other night she started her prayer and well the next is going to be a direct quote from her prayer because I can't put it any better than she did.
"Thank you for the prophet and my princesses.  Thank you for my jingle bells and my tinker bell.  Thank you for my dresses and my friends."  And then she closed and was done.  Usually me or Graydon will prompt her here or there but we were stifling laughter the whole time that we couldn't do anything but smile.  It was so dang cute!!!

So other than that we are both working hard and plugging along and Kayla is learning and growing.
