I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas, we sure did. Kayla was the star of the show of course. She had no idea when she woke up that it was any different but when we went down stairs she said,"OH WOW!" Now trying to get her to eat breakfast after that was difficult but she got some then proceeded to explore her stocking. She got a baby doll and stroller which is now her favorite toy. She was in awe over putting it's binkie in and out and pushing it around while the rest of us opened presents. Kayla also got a nice big panda bear chair from her Uncles which she loves. After opening presents we made the trek up to Centerville to be with Graydon's family. She and her cousins had lots of fun playing and being silly.

So this was a really white Christmas for us in South Jordan. We took Kayla outside to play and the snow banks were taller than she is!! She thought it was pretty cool and kept saying "nooooo", that would be how she says Snow.

Kayla with Santa
Well we had our ward Christmas party this morning and of course Santa came. Kayla was just fine looking at him from a distance but the second she got close, well take a look at the picture and you can tell what Kayla thought of Santa. I thought it would be fun to put the picture from last year next to this year to see how much she has grown. So Merry Christmas all!

Zoo Lights and Animal Noises

So I was really excited when we went to the Zoo on Friday night. They have pretty cool Christmas lights and Kayla loves lights and animals. So it was of course freezing cold but the wind stopped for a little bit while we were inside so it turned out to be bearable. Kayla really seemed to enjoy looking at the lights and would point out the ones she wanted to get closer to. But her favorite part of the night was the monkeys. They have this really cool part where you are at the trees level so that you are right where the monkeys are. She loved watching them run around and play. So I took the chance to teacher what monkey's say and we haven't heard much else since. She literally fell asleep making the monkey noise. It was really cute.So I got video of all the animal noises Kayla knows, there is the monkey, the elephant, the cat and she makes a fishy face too.

Falling Leaves and Painting and Christmas Trees
So since a lot has happened since the last time I blogged I will break this into three parts.
Part One: Falling Leaves
Since the leaves have been falling of course we needed to clean them up. And with Kayla little jobs that wouldn't take that long take much longer. Well she is starting to really get into wanting to help me with cleaning and just daily chores. So my Mom decided to let her help rake the leaves outside.
She was very excited and really enjoyed trying to rake the leaves but her favorite was riding in the wheel barrel with all the leaves.
Then my Dad was working on fixing a tire so she had to go help him. Let me tell you she is Grandpa's little shadow. She would do anything for Grandpa. That was a fun day for us.
Part Two: Painting
So Kayla absolutely loves to paint. She knows where her paints are and will ask me all the time to get them out for her. Well it's fun watching her
paint and here are some pictures of her painti
ng.
Part Three: Christmas Tree Hunting
So every year my Dad's side of the family goes Christmas Tree hunting up by Strawberry the day after Thanksgiving. It's always lots of fun, and we are always cold and sometimes there is no snow but it's fun. Well this year there was snow, YEAH, and Kayla got her first taste of snow. Well she was a little frustrated with her outfit. If you have ever watched a Christmas story you remember the little boy that was so bundled up that he couldn't even put his arms down. Well Kayla kind of reminded me of that. We put her in a sled and she couldn't bend at the waist so she just laid down in the sled.

Then she wanted to go over to the hill where the kids where sliding down it and it was very funny to watch her walk over there.

Well then she saw Grandpa riding the four wheelers so of course she wanted to try them out and she loved them. She will do well in this family.
So when we get our tree all decorated I will post a picture of the lovely tree we cut down after having to hike up the mountain to find it. It was a fun day and Kayla did pretty good for how cold it was.

Hospital Pictures
A while ago I wrote about Kayla's hospital stay. Well I finally got the pictures off of Graydon's phone and here they are. It was really sad but she was so cute. Pushing her IV stand up and down the hall. There is no way to keep that girl in one room. Sorry the pictures aren't the best, remember they are uploaded from a phone
camera.

Happy Halloween and Moving

So Halloween was way fun!! Kayla was Little Red Riding Hood and the cutest one ever!!! Kayla wasn't so sure about getting dressed up and all the weird looking people when we took her to daycare.
They had a parade kind of like they do at the elementary schools around her but for the little kids. But then she really got into it because she got to follow the other kids through the center and be the center of attention. Plus when they were done they got a cookie.
Then we took her down to South Jordan to visit my family and go trick or treating.
We thought that we might get a few houses in before she got tired of it but man were we wrong. She was helping Grandma pass out candy and then decided to follow the kids to the next house. Then she would take the candy from the people at the door put it in her bucket and she was off to the next house. We got so much candy it's ridiculous!! I couldn't believe how she took to trick or treating, she loved it. Plus it helped that it was in the 70's for Halloween so we didn't have to worry about coats and hiding her costume. It was really fun.
Then the next day we moved. Yep moved back into my parents house to save money. Graydon is applying for the Rad tech program and when he gets in he won't be able to work so we are trying to pay off a bunch of stuff before we have to live off my income and student loans. So I just wanted to thank the many people who helped and got us moved really quickly and smoothly.

Update!!
So it's been forever since I have posted because life has been crazy! So Kayla was a very sick little girl for a little while there. She started screaming at daycare one day and wouldn't stop. So they came and got me from my classroom and got me out of there pretty quick. I took her to the doctor and our doctor sent us to primary childrens. Scary huh!!!! So we go to the ER, which primary is amazing by the way and they were so nice to us, and they take x-rays and she has to have a enma to clear her out. Which I'm telling you now it's no fun watching your child scream and reach for you and you can't do anything. So they sent us home, then on Wednesday night I went to pick her up from my parents and she started grunting and screaming again except this time it was worse. Back to the ER for us and more test and an ive this time. She was misrable. Well they decide to admit her. She then recieved a tube down her nose to pump her full of laxitives. She was doing pretty good and thought it was pretty cool to push her ive stand around up and down the halls. The nurses would just laugh because she wouldn't stay in her room. Well by Friday she was finally pooping clear and more x-rays and she was releases all better. We now have to keep her on Miralax to make sure she doesn't do that again and I never thought I would be so interested in poop but oh well.
The Cabin
So after Kayla got out of the hospital we went to a cabin in the Unitas with Graydon's family to relax and just get away. It was very cold but fun and it even snowed on the day we came home. So here are some pictures of that little trip and hopefully I will be keeping up on the blog better now.

Kayla's Birthday
So it's amazing how your childs birthday makes you feel so much older! It's so crazy to think a year ago she was so tiny! Well Kayla had two parties for her birthday, one for Graydon's family and one for my family. The first one was at Graydon's mom's house and it was on her birthday. She had no idea what was going on. But she sure did love the cake. The second one was at my mom and dad's house on that Sunday. This time she knew what the cake was and wanted to dive right in.

Trbute to a Year!
Believe it or not my little girl is turning 1 this Thursday the 18th. The little baby girl we brought home a year a go has gone from a tiny 8lb baby girl to a big 23lb toddler! It's amazing all the changes she has gone through and we have gone through. I have put together a little slide show of Kayla through the past year. Hope you enjoy.

Not doing much, just busy.
I feel like we are doing a whole lot but when asked what's new I can't really think of too much. Graydon started school and he's got some pretty tough classes. He's actually got a cadaver lab. Crazy huh?!! I know I wouldn't be able to do it but he's into it. Hopefully everything goes as planned and he will be able to apply for the Radiology program in January and we hope that the wait isn't too long. They only let 30 new people in each fall so it could be between a 1 to 3 year wait. Kayla is getting big and climbs over everything. She has a rocking horse that her uncle Curtis made for her when she was born and she can now climb on it herself. In fact if we try to help her she gets really mad at us and pushes us away. So I got brave and pulled out my center piece for my coffee table and put it out. Well it's got a bunch of balls some of which are glass and Kayla thought I had gotten her a new toy. Check her out trying to eat one of these balls! That's quite a bubble girlie!

So Graydon, who is a huge BYU fan if you didn't know, was very happy to find himself with tickets to the opening game. My Aunt and Uncle have season tickets and weren't able to use them. Well he had a blast and me not being a big sports fan told him he could take a buddy. Well they went down and Graydon found this shirt for Kayla because he is determined to make her a BYU fan with him so that he can have someone to watch the games with in the house. I do have to say she looks pretty cute in it.

And last but not least here is a picture of Kayla playing horsey with her daddy. She thinks it's great to be able to climb on his back and get a ride.
OH and my baby is turning 1 this month!!! I can't believe it! There is no way she is that old but that day is coming and coming fast!
