Nothing much

So there really isn't too much going on with our lives right now. Kayla is growing and growing and growing!!!! We were at a friends baby blessing and she looked at the baby and pointed at him and said "baby"! Well lets just say we were in a little bit of shock but she said it again and so I guess she can say baby. I have been dealing with being sick this past week. I'm on the brink of pneumonia but luckily I went to the doctor before it became too bad and now I'm all drugged up and getting better. Kayla has started to be very interested in reading. She has a little seat in our front room and she will sit there with a book and "read" it. It's so cute I love it and I hope she will always love reading. So I've got a little monkey who loves to go where we wouldn't think she could go. The other day she actually pushed the stand for the printer out of the way and got behind it. She was very proud of herself.

Guess Whos Walking!!!

Yep Kayla has found a new way to move and discover things! She's walking! It's full of mixed emotions. I'm so proud of her and let me tell you she is even prouder of herself but then I'm sad because she is getting so big! Plus now she can get to things she couldn't get to before. She's so cute about it. The first time she took off she was mad so she was reaching for Graydon and he moved and she followed him. Since then she's just be getting better and better.
Kayla went in for a follow up appointment because her weight was low and her iron was low for her 9 month appointment. Well her iron is good and she gained almost 2 lbs in a month so she's good to go now. She weighs 21.1 lbs now! Big girl isn't she! My baby isn't looking so much like a baby any more she's turning into a little toddler! Well that's all the updates for now. And hers a little video of Kayla walking for your entertainment. Oh and she saw that I had the camera so she came as fast as she could and kind of ran into me so that's what the ending is.

Things I Love About Being A Mom

I was just sitting here wasting time before work when I got to thinking about all the the things I love about being a mom. So thought I would share.
  1. When I get home and she is so excited to see me that it looks like she would jump out of Graydon's arms to mine.
  2. When we get to play fun games that are so simple but make me and her laugh.
  3. Listening to her try and sing, yep she sure does try and it's so cute!
  4. When she wants to cuddle oh it's the best!
  5. Watching her explore and discover new things every day.
  6. Watching how amazingly fast she is growing and learning everyday!
  7. Listening to her talk to herself when she wakes up in the morning.
  8. How her learning to feed herself is learning experience for both of us.
  9. How sometimes I'm the only one who can comfort her.
  10. When she drags one of her toys over to me and sits in my lap to play with it.

There are many many more but right now I have to go get ready for work. Being a mom is the best!

4th of July

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!

This was Kayla's amazing hairdo when she woke up this morning. She was actually pretty happy but the hairdo made her look a little scary. But we cleaned her up and couldn't have asked for a better day! First we started out at the parade. So it was suppose to be a really hot day but lucky for us it was cloudy for most of the parade so it was really nice. We were worried that Kayla would get scared by some of the noises but no worries for us she loved it! She got a little flag and thought most of the floats were pretty cool. Check it out. Sunscreen is a must on a day like today!
Go USA!So next is the fireworks. I was hoping that because she did so well for the parade she would be okay for the fireworks. Well she actually did extremely well. She would stop what she was doing to watch the fireworks and even the noisy ones didn't bother her. Kayla just didn't like the wait time in between. Oh and the video is the first time she ever watched fireworks and you can see that she stops what ever she was doing to watch them. Kayla waiting with Grandma Sill for fireworks to begin.Me and Kayla and Kate watching fireworks.Watching fireworks with her cousin Jane.

Learning to Feed Ourselves!

Yes I said ourselves because with how much ends up on my shirt when I eat that I'm still practicing feeding my self. Any ways Kayla has been trying to use a spoon and feed herself. Yep can you say messy and a little crazy! She actually does pretty good if I load up the spoon then give it to her it usually ends up in her mouth. It's when she wants the bowl too that it gets a little crazy! She of course forgets about the spoon when there's a bowl in front of her and just goes full hand and face into it but she sure is a cutie when she's a big mess too.

So Kayla is a climber. Yep you put something in her path and she will try to climb over it no matter how big it is. Or she will try to climb into things like her toy baskets. The other day she climbed over Graydon and then over me to get to the kitty on the other side. It was pretty funny because she did it so fast!

OH and Kayla has 5 teeth now! Yeah a mouth full and man does it hurt when she bites you. But I got a picture of the mouth full of teeth so here you go. And she learned how to play patty cake all by her self! It's so dang cute. When I get it on video I will put it on the blog. But now that she has figured out how to clap she claps about everything. I love it!

Summertime Fun!

Just to warn you that this entry is going to be a little picture heavy but you'll understand why. So first off Kayla got her first taste with spaghetti and she loved it! Of course because she gets to get all messy and eat at the same time! It was fun to see her chase the noodles around. It's getting easier for her to eat some of the foods now that she is up to four teeth! Yep 2 more just came in! It's been tonz of fun with her almost always teething for the past few weeks but at least it's going by fast and not getting drawn out over too long right?

Next it's been a up down summer. Warm one day and cold and raining the next. Well it was one of those really warm days so here are some fun pictures of Kayla hanging on the grass. She usually doesn't like the grass but that day she was digging it.

So it was warm enough that I got out the kiddy pool! Oh yeah I was excited! Kayla has a dang cute swimming suit and she loves playing in the bath so I was hoping that she would love the kiddy pool. Well I was holding her while it was filling up and she was practically diving out of my arms trying to get into the pool!! So my mother-in-law brought out some warm water from the house to warm up the water while I changed Kayla into her swimming suit. She went crazy when I put her in the pool! She loved it and was so dang cute!

She was giggling up a storm while playing in the pool!Oh and I figured out how the put video into my posts so here is a little video clip of Kayla playing in the pool. She's my cutie!

One then Two!

So Kayla finally got her first tooth! Yippee! It was much fun getting it since she has floaters. They would get right where they would almost break through and then sink back down. So yeah we have a tooth that isn't going back down! She's so cute with it and she always has her tongue on it to feel it so it's hard to get a picture of it. Well Kayla being the cute thing she is has already started pulling her self up and walking around all the furniture. It's a little crazy and she keeps trying to step away from her hand holds. So you can imagine we've had a few good falls. Well she has given her daycare a hard time because she has actually cut open her gums when she has fallen there. So with doing that she has helped another tooth come through on the top! So within a week she has two teeth! One one the bottom and one on the top.
So I was outside talking with my mother-in-law in the garden and Kayla was going to go in and get a bath so I put her down on the ground and of course she found the the dirt and rocks and started to eat them. She got nice and messy and I got this picture once I got inside because of course I didn't have my camera on me at the time. Like the mud ring around the mouth?
My brother Bryan gets home from his mission on Wednesday and I'm so excited! He has only seen Kayla through pictures and of course when he called on Mother's Day she was unusually quiet. So I'm very excited for them to finally meet!
