Carter 9 months!

I can't believe he is 9 month already!  He is getting so big and mobile.  Carter is now pulling himself up to standing and cruising around furniture.  He loves watermelon and really wants to feed himself.
We call him our little puppy dog because when he crawls he turns his hands in slightly and kind of pants.  It's very cute.

Carter loves "helping" in the garden.  As you can tell he sampled the ground to make sure it was dirty enough.

Carter loves people and has turned out really social.  He also enjoys camping.  He is Carter with Grandma up in the Unitas.  So cute!

Carter is also teething a lot!  He now has two teeth and has three more trying to pop out.  His surgery is on the 17th of August and I'm very nervous but ready to have it done and over with.  We are doing his 9 month appointment at the end of the month because of his surgery so I will have more clear stats on him then.

A Scarecrow and Standing

So Kayla noticed some birds pecking around our garden and asked if we could make a scarecrow to keep them away.  Well I had just packed up her too small clothes to take to DI so I said we could grab some from there and figure it out.   She told me it had to be a scary scarecrow so the birds wouldn't want to come in.  I think it's kind of cute but also very scary.

And Mr. Carter has figured out how to pull himself up to standing!  He is very proud of himself and now can get all kinds of things.  He is just getting so big!

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July weekend.  It started Friday the 1st with the Centerville Childrens Parade.  This is were the kids decorate their bikes and do a short parade and at the end they get a Pace bar.  Well Kayla was so funny and wouldn't look at the camera because she was concentrating on riding her bike and trying to wave to the on lookers.  It was so cute!

She loved the pace bar at the end but was tired so got in the stroller.  She then put her headband on Carter.
 Cute boy!!!
The next day was the big parade.  Kayla was confused when I said we were going to watch a parade and told me she was too tired to do another parade.  But when we got the she figured out she was going to be on the sidelines this time.  She again would not look at me and really enjoyed the parade.  Carter enjoyed the flag the service men in the parade passed out.
Kayla is the one in the pink shirt.  It's her favorite color and it's hard to get her to wear any other color.
Carter loved waving his flag!  It was so dang cute!

So that night we did fireworks and Kayla loved them!  She wanted more and more.  It was nice that she wasn't afraid this year.  The next day my parents took her camping over night and she was thrilled!  We did fireworks again that night and Carter woke up to see them and loved them!  He would get so excited for the next one to start.  It was a good weekend.  I love this country!!!!

Carter at 8 months!

This boy has decided that 8 months is the month to do things.  He started crawling on June 26th for the first time!  I had gotten him out of the tub and was finishing up washing Kayla's hair and apparently he wanted back in.  So he slowly crawled back into the bathroom.  I was so happy I got to see it for the first time.  Since then we have baby proofed like crazy and Kayla has learned that he is no longer happy to sit in her lap.

Also Mr. Carter has gotten his first tooth!  It popped out of his gums around June 30th and his tongue won't leave it alone.  Along with that tooth came a nasty ear infection that he is fighting and I think is still lingering even after antibiotics so we will be going back to the doctor this week to have it checked.

Other new things for Carter is loving finger foods, starting to clap and loves to play patty cake.  He is a happy boy most of the time.  His favorite thing is water!  He loves to be in, around, and near water.  He is loving his new found mobility and will often wander between rooms.

Fathers Day

I am dedicating this post to all the fathers in my in my life.

My Dad!  He is wonderful and my kids absolutely adores him!  He was always the quiet one but I never wanted to disappoint my dad.  Now that I'm older I love to talk with him and he is always ready to share what he has learned from his experiences.  He has always been a priesthood holder and is was so comforting to know he was there.

My hubby!  Oh how I love and need this man.  He works so hard and fights through so many trials.  He is my rock and always reels me in when I'm close to the edge.  He is a wonderful, amazing dad!  Kayla is all about dad and wants to do everything with him.  He is a worthy priesthood holder and for that I am so grateful!  He is there to keep us centered in the church.

So happy Father's Day all!

Camping

So we went camping this past weekend and it was Carter's first time!  It was nice during the day but oh so cold at night.  The kids were warm so that was great.
Carter is an outdoor lover so this was fun for him and he spent a lot of the time on the grass.  So we were invited to go camping with one of Graydon's coworker.  They have a membership to camperworld.  Well this campground had a pool!

This was Carter's first time going swimming too and he loves it!  He always splashes up a storm in the tub so being in a pool was great.

Kayla loved LOVED camping!  She is already asking to go back.  I don't know if it's because she can get as dirty as possible or if it's because she gets to be outside all day.  She would just run around all day.  There was a playground in the middle of the campground and she made quite a few friends while we were there.

This picture Kayla actually took of Daddy getting into the cooler.

We had a great time but were ready to come home after two nights.

Carter is 7 months old!!!

Oh how the time has flown by and Carter is now 7 months old! He is a happy boy!  He loves to play sitting up but is getting really good at rolling around.  He has started to get frustrated with not being able to crawl.  He sees something and tries to get it but ends up going backwards.

He is also loving finger foods.  He has had cheerios and puffs.  He loves being able to feed himself!  It helps to distract him so I can eat my food without him trying to grab it.  He is such a fun boy and loves to play with Kayla.

Since we don't go to the doctor this month I weighed him myself he's a big boy weighing a whole 19lbs!  Also we are about 2 months away from Carter's surgery for his cleft palate.  I'm starting to get really anxious but looking forward to having it over and done with.
