I feel like we are doing a whole lot but when asked what's new I can't really think of too much. Graydon started school and he's got some pretty tough classes. He's actually got a cadaver lab. Crazy huh?!! I know I wouldn't be able to do it but he's into it. Hopefully everything goes as planned and he will be able to apply for the Radiology program in January and we hope that the wait isn't too long. They only let 30 new people in each fall so it could be between a 1 to 3 year wait. Kayla is getting big and climbs over everything. She has a rocking horse that her uncle Curtis made for her when she was born and she can now climb on it herself. In fact if we try to help her she gets really mad at us and pushes us away. So I got brave and pulled out my center piece for my coffee table and put it out. Well it's got a bunch of balls some of which are glass and Kayla thought I had gotten her a new toy. Check her out trying to eat one of these balls! That's quite a bubble girlie!

So Graydon, who is a huge BYU fan if you didn't know, was very happy to find himself with tickets to the opening game. My Aunt and Uncle have season tickets and weren't able to use them. Well he had a blast and me not being a big sports fan told him he could take a buddy. Well they went down and Graydon found this shirt for Kayla because he is determined to make her a BYU fan with him so that he can have someone to watch the games with in the house. I do have to say she looks pretty cute in it.

And last but not least here is a picture of Kayla playing horsey with her daddy. She thinks it's great to be able to climb on his back and get a ride.
OH and my baby is turning 1 this month!!! I can't believe it! There is no way she is that old but that day is coming and coming fast!

Camping and Mud

Yep we went camping this last week and it was very interesting and fun and tiring. So this was the family reunion on my Mom's side and it was great to see everyone. We went to Moon Lake up in the Uintas. This a picture from a hike Graydon went on of the lake. Isn't it pretty!
Well we left when Kayla was getting ready for her nap so that she would sleep through as much of the car ride as possible. And it worked until we hit a road block and got stopped and she woke up. Lucky for us she behaved and we were pretty close to being there. We got there and she looked around and couldn't figure out what to do with all the rocks and dirt and pinecones. But don't worry she figured it out. Here is a picture of her before she headed out to get nice and dirty for the rest of the week.
Well it was really cold that first night so I didn't sleep so well and either did Kayla so we got little sleep. Lucky for us there was so much for Kayla to see that she wasn't too grumpy from the lack of sleep. It wasn't long until Kayla got really dirty so her is a picture of one of our many clean up seasons and some cute pictures from when grandpa put his hat on her.

So when everyone got there we totaled I believe 24 people in all and that was missing my
Aunt Barbara because she had back surgery. We missed her that's for sure. Well my Aunt Marie made us all shirts and each family had a different color. Check out this nice looking group.
Us in our cute shirts and my little family with my parents and brothers.

So lucky for us my aunt had pasted down a pretty amazing hiking baby backpack. Kayla loved being in this thing. Graydon even took her on a 3 and a half hour hike in this thing. I didn't go on the hike because my asthma was acting up and I wasn't completely better from the sickness the week before. Here is my little bug just hangin' out in the backpack.

My Uncle Reed brought his dog and well Kayla is actually afraid of dogs. Well we took this as an opportunity to introduce her to dogs and show her that they aren't scary. So at first she didn't want to be near the dog but by the end she was grabbing our hands to take her down to see the dog. Oh and she learned to say dog, she would point at her and say dog with a really quiet g. Here she had gotten my mom to take her to see the dog.
So the last night it rained!!!! Oh did it rain and hailed and was freezing! It rained so hard that our tent leaked, lucky for us my brothers were staying in a tent so my parents had plenty of room for us in their tent tailor. Yeah for that because it was a lot warmer for us when Kayla woke up screaming. She wasn't even really awake but she just screamed and screamed and wouldn't be consoled. Eventually she went back down and we got a little bit of sleep before coming home the next day.
So my mother-in-law was watering her lawn and Kayla keep trying to get into the sprinkler. So we took off her dress and let her go at it in her onesie. Well since she was wet she also got into some mud. She was so dang cute that I just didn't care that she was getting so dirty. Also here are some cute picture of her with her daddy.

Nothing much

So there really isn't too much going on with our lives right now. Kayla is growing and growing and growing!!!! We were at a friends baby blessing and she looked at the baby and pointed at him and said "baby"! Well lets just say we were in a little bit of shock but she said it again and so I guess she can say baby. I have been dealing with being sick this past week. I'm on the brink of pneumonia but luckily I went to the doctor before it became too bad and now I'm all drugged up and getting better.
Kayla has started to be very interested in reading. She has a little seat in our front room and she will sit there with a book and "read" it. It's so cute I love it and I hope she will always love reading.
So I've got a little monkey who loves to go where we wouldn't think she could go. The other day she actually pushed the stand for the printer out of the way and got behind it. She was very proud of herself.

Guess Whos Walking!!!

Yep Kayla has found a new way to move and discover things! She's walking! It's full of mixed emotions. I'm so proud of her and let me tell you she is even prouder of herself but then I'm sad because she is getting so big! Plus now she can get to things she couldn't get to before. She's so cute about it. The first time she took off she was mad so she was reaching for Graydon and he moved and she followed him. Since then she's just be getting better and better.
Kayla went in for a follow up appointment because her weight was low and her iron was low for her 9 month appointment. Well her iron is good and she gained almost 2 lbs in a month so she's good to go now. She weighs 21.1 lbs now! Big girl isn't she! My baby isn't looking so much like a baby any more she's turning into a little toddler! Well that's all the updates for now. And hers a little video of Kayla walking for your entertainment. Oh and she saw that I had the camera so she came as fast as she could and kind of ran into me so that's what the ending is.

Things I Love About Being A Mom
- When I get home and she is so excited to see me that it looks like she would jump out of Graydon's arms to mine.
- When we get to play fun games that are so simple but make me and her laugh.
- Listening to her try and sing, yep she sure does try and it's so cute!
- When she wants to cuddle oh it's the best!
- Watching her explore and discover new things every day.
- Watching how amazingly fast she is growing and learning everyday!
- Listening to her talk to herself when she wakes up in the morning.
- How her learning to feed herself is learning experience for both of us.
- How sometimes I'm the only one who can comfort her.
- When she drags one of her toys over to me and sits in my lap to play with it.
There are many many more but right now I have to go get ready for work. Being a mom is the best!

4th of July
This was Kayla's amazing hairdo when she woke up this morning. She was actually pretty happy but the hairdo made her look a little scary. But we cleaned her up and couldn't have asked for a better day! First we started out at the parade. So it was suppose to be a really hot day but lucky for us it was cloudy for most of the parade so it was really nice. We were worried that Kayla would get scared by some of the noises but no worries for us she loved it! She got a little flag and thought most of the floats were pretty cool. Check it out.
Sunscreen is a must on a day like today!
Go USA!
So next is the fireworks. I was hoping that because she did so well for the parade she would be okay for the fireworks. Well she actually did extremely well. She would stop what she was doing to watch the fireworks and even the noisy ones didn't bother her. Kayla just didn't like the wait time in between. Oh and the video is the first time she ever watched fireworks and you can see that she stops what ever she was doing to watch them.

Learning to Feed Ourselves!
Yes I said ourselves because with how much ends up on my shirt when I eat that I'm still practicing feeding my self. Any ways Kayla has been trying to use a spoon and feed herself. Yep can you say messy and a little crazy! She actually
does pretty good if I load up the spoon then give it to her it usually ends up in her mouth. It's when she wants the bowl too that it gets a little crazy! She of course forgets about the spoon when there's a bowl in front of her and just goes full hand and face into it but she sure is a cutie when she's a big mess too.
So Kayla is a climber. Yep you put something in her path and she will try to climb over it no matter how big it is. Or she will try to climb into things like her toy baskets. The other day she climbed over Graydon and then over me to get to the kitty on the other side. It was pretty funny because she did it so fast!
OH and Kayla has 5 teeth now! Yeah a mouth full and man does it hurt when she bites you. But I got a picture of the mouth full of teeth so here you go. And she learned how to play patty cake all by her self! It's so dang cute. When I get it on video I will put it on the blog. But now that she has figured out how to clap she claps about everything. I love it!
